after exactly 2 years of use, we extended our calisthenics gym with new mats, more gear, and better vibes. here was our starting point:

we're a "no shoes" household, so the first step was deciding where shoes need to come off. just inside the side door seemed right to us.

next we needed mats. unfortunately the kind we bought last time are no longer manufactured, and it was not easy to find mats with the same dimensions, thickness, and design. we settled for 2 out of 3 (dimension/thickness) and bought enough to lay out.

because these new mat "puzzle piece joints" didn't align with our previous mats, we added the side protectors and instead butted them up directly with Gym v1 mats. as we inched towards the garage door and stacked stone steps i busted out my table saw for custom cuts.

slowly but surely we shaped the new mats snug around our steps and other obstacles.

my wife tested the floor for durability and we called it good.

throughout this process we added a couple boxes, larger pull-up bar, row machine, balance ball, and 100+ new square feet to stay fit.
